According to revised NDCs India plans to have 500GW of renewable electricity generation installed capacity by 2030. This is a huge target considering that till now India has 115 GW of renewable electricity generation capacity. Apart from this, India has set target to go net zero emissions by 2070. This provides opportunity and challenges for the renewables sector. The presentation discusses various aspects of achieving these targets while growing the economy. Approach of the government, response from industries and corporate houses, various initiatives launched by the government, focus on research & development, indigenous manufacturing, development of quality monitoring mechanism and market development mechanisms are discussed in detail.
